
What we did
Adobe’s Magento 2 backend developer was selected as the most appropriate platform to build on, which received additional, non-existent software to fulfil the client’s varied needs. FUJIFILM USA’s existing product import platform, Inriver, was integrated in consideration of long-standing skills and automation.
The ecommerce store’s frontend was developed using an open source Hyva theme, which offered plenty of space for custom development. We kept the design aligned with FUJIFILM USA’s well-established brand guidelines, while ensuring UX best practices were met. Speed was another key consideration – thanks to insights into a largely mobile customer base – and became a core part of site development. Innovative optimisation led to exceptional metrics as measured by Google’s Lighthouse. In turn, SEO rankings were vastly improved, leading to a 209.9% rise in impressions and 181.5% more clicks.
Finally, a number of third-party tools were integrated to make customers’ checkout process effortless. A suitable payment gateway, a tax calculator and multiple order export platforms are now present. Overall, the BRIGHT development team provided a sturdy foundation that looks ahead to future developments. Further user elements can and will be added to the FUJIFILM USA ecommerce store without need for a significant overhaul.
Naturally, with a sales-based website, security remained paramount to both our team and our client. Thorough measures were taken prior to project delivery, including PEN testing and the implementation of the Signifyd fraud prevention system, which increased the approval rate of the website by 48.86%.


Outcome
The FUJIFILM USA team were exceptionally happy with the well-thought-out and future-proof deliverable. They are currently experiencing fewer customer rejections than previously, for a higher conversion rate. Orders and tracking are no longer managed manually and sales have increased greatly. Work on the website was completed within a financial quarter – two months less than a project of this scale and depth would usually demand.
