What we did
The AR experience we created allowed customers to select different product colourways and, in real time, project a 3D rendering of the earbuds onto their own person using their phone camera. We worked closely with out-of-house AR specialists to deliver an experience that took the technology beyond the client’s expectations, automatically detecting users’ ears and projecting the product in a way that minimised clipping between real-world and AR elements.
We initially designed the landing page in Figma, enabling a simplified feedback pipeline whereby the client could provide detailed comments. Once a wireframe version of the site was approved, we applied a colour theme informed by Samsung’s brand guidelines. The page itself was then built using WordPress for its flexibility and mobile-friendly architecture.
Meanwhile, our design team created a range of in-store physical collateral for the campaign, including stickers and tent cards. Once again, we worked closely with the client’s own brand guidelines to inform the look of these items, which were quickly approved.
With the client rolling out this campaign at a variety of retailers in locations up and down the country, they requested a method for analysing which specific stores were receiving the most QR scans. To generate accurate tracking statistics, we created unique QR codes for each retailer to use and cross-referenced this information with the location data of mobile phones that accessed the website.

Outcome
The AR experience surpassed the client’s expectations in functionality, and they were extremely happy with the website and in-store marketing materials. This assignment was a prime example of our ability to effectively manage a project straddling multiple teams as well as external contractors. We are proud to have innovated throughout this job, all while keeping the client satisfied and in the loop.
